Yuletide: Police Ready to Provide Security- IGP
The Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu has re-assured Nigerians of the force's renewed commitment towards ensuring security and safety in the country
IGP's assurance is coming a few weeks to the Yuletide.
Addressing Journalists during a meeting with senior police officers, in Abuja, Friday, IGP lamented series of security challenges occasion by terror elements, bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists, cybercriminals and other highly organized national and transnational criminals saying the problems were surmounted due to the resilience of the force.
Adamu noted the ever-increasing complexity of crime as well as the evolving activities of subversive elements saying the force will be up and doing in the fight against crimes.
IGP urged police Commissioners to provide strategic leadership that will keep officers focused on the attainment of their policing goals on a sustainable basis.
Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi who paid a courtesy visit to the gathering, commended the police for their commitments towards protecting lives, property and peacebuilding.
Dingyadi charged officers to remain loyal to the line of duty, in line with president Mohammadu Buhari administration commitment to adequately equip the police.
