Osinbajo accuses Atiku
Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osunbajo has accused the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar of playing double standard on the issue of restructuring, stressing that the ruling party is much more concern about restructuring.
Delivering a lecture at the University of Ibadan on the topic, Developing the Nation through Youth empowerment, Prof. Osinbajo stated that those who are now promoting the course of restructuring had in the time past work against it while they were in political offices.
The Vice President maintained that he had appeared in the supreme court several times when he was the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State defending the course of restructuring, noting that he is of the view that each state should be allowed to control its resources.
He appealed to the youths who just finished from Universities and other higher institutions not to pick up the dream of occupying political offices but should first develop their careers through active involvement in public offices.
The Vice President who appealed to the gathering to key into various empowerment programmes of Buhari"s government, revealed that the present administration has created various avenues for the youths to be actively engaged and contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation. calling for appropriate actions in this regard.
In their separate remarks at the event, prominent Lawyer, Chief Wale Babalakin and the Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Idowu Olayinka who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Kayode Adebowale expressed concern about the increasing rate of youth unemployment in the country.
They also appealed to the youths not to be discouraged but should take up the challenge and key themselves into vantage positions in order to contribute to national development.
