Obaseki says politics over for next 3 years

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state has assured the people of the state that he is now fully ready to work and avoid political distractions now that a legal battle, which accompanied his declaration as the governor of the state, has come to end.


The Governor who spoke at a thanksgiving service at New Covenant Gospel Church in Benin City, the Edo state capital, said they were at the church to appreciate God for their victory at the Supreme Court.

Governor Obaseki, his deputy, Philip Shaibu accompanied by their wives, were at the church to appreciate God for the Victory at the Supreme Court.

Obaseki noted that he was the unlikely governorship candidate for the September 28th 2016 governorship election in Edo State, but was favored by God.

The Governor assured that his administration would do more of what he has done in his last eight months in office.

In the mood of jubilation and appreciation over the governor’s victory at the Court, the state chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Oyonnude Kure, prayed for the governor, his deputy and wives; and call on the people to rally round them.

Governor Obaseki however promised that his administration would make Edo people to smile and not regret giving him the mandate to govern them.
