Ihedioha takes office, bemoan past maladministration
The people Imo state in thousands trouped on Thursday to witness the swearing in of their new governor.
Performing the swearing-in activities at the Dan Ayam stadium in Owerri the Imo state capital the chief judge of the state Justice Pascal O. Nnadi in company of other legal luminaries of the state, admit the oath of office to the Emeka Ihedioha and his deputy governor Gerald Ironna.
The governor after the swearing-in moves ahead to participate his first official inspection of guards of honor mount by various security agencies in the state.
In his speech the Governor of Imo state right honorable Emeka Ihedioha reaffirmed his promise to build new Imo.
He reiterated that all effort of those who ensure his victory in the election shall not go in vain.
Taking a retrospective view of the just concluded regime of governor Rochas Okorocha, Emeka said the state has experienced maladministration for the past eight years and those responsible for the current dilapidated state Imo found itself will be held accountable.
Emeka said under his watch faith and confidence of the people in government will be restored.
He also vows to be the Governor of the good people of Imo state irrespective of the geopolitical zone or political affiliation.
