Court Adjourns Hearing Over Soldiers Alleged Invasion Of Delta Community
The Federal high court sitting in Effurun Delta state on the alleged invasion of Kokori community in the state by soldiers of the 3 and 222 battalion, could not hold as schedule as a result of the court postponement of the case to a yet to be announced date.
When Galaxy news visited the high court premises at about 9am when the court was to begin sitting, lawyers and their clients were seen discussing in groups on the decision of the court not to entertain the suit.
Speaking outside the court premises, counsel to the community Barrister Ogedegbe Omemiroro stated that he has petitioned the army chief over the issue.
Speaking further, he call on the National assembly to regulate the affairs of the military in the community.
Meanwhile, soldiers still comb the community forest and streets for remnants of kidnappers after the most wanted suspected kidnap kingpin in the state Kelvin Oniarah was arrested last year.
