ADC women express readiness
Prominent women leaders of the Ogun state chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have expressed their readiness of women and youths to provide quality leadership that would take Nigeria to greater heights.
They reiterated their resolve to contribute their quota in the nation-building at the investiture of Dr. Juliet Opaleye as the Iyalode of ADC in Ogun state.
Dr. Juliet Opaleye declared that from the local to the global level, women’s leadership and political participation is on the rise. She expressed her readiness to galvanize support for female candidates and all the candidates of the ADC across the state and the federation.
On her part, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Oyeyemi Kolapo disclosed that the party had mapped out plans to provide credible leadership for the country. She also said that women have shown their capacity in every area of life and their political participation often results in tangible gains for democracy.
Speaking on what necessitated the investiture, ADC Women leader, Ogun state, Elizabeth Adegoke, noted that women have shown their proven abilities as leaders and agents of change, and are now beginning to exercise their right to participate equally in democratic governance.
