Ogun police establishes additional command
As part of efforts aimed at strengthening community policing across states of the federation as directed by the inspector general of Police, the Ogun state commissioner of Police, Ahmed Illyasu has inaugurated the newly constituted executive members of Ogbere Area command.
Speaking after their inauguration, CP Ahmed Illyasu says the steps taken towards the actualization of the new area command is to ensure members of the public have trust and confidence in the police.
The Police Boss says the command will work towards achieving peace and security in the state, making reference to the support gathered from the Police Community Relations Committee.
In his charge to the new executives, Illyasu urged them to partake in the security of there environment because of the dynamics of crime.
Ahmed Illyasu says the police has been able to address the myriads of challenges ranging from farmers/herdsmen clash, kidnapping, cultism amongst others.
He says the state government as well as sister security agencies have helped in tackling crime and criminality in the state.
On his part, Ogun state chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ibrahim Olaniyan expresses gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for the creation of the new area command.
He says PCRC will continue to support the Nigeria police towards achieving relative peace across states.
