How The Military Kill 343 Terrorists in Two Months
The Nigerian Military has killed a total of three hundred and forty-three Boko Haram and ISAWP terrorist between March 18 and May 5, 2020.
Coordinator Defence Media operation Major General John Enenche made the disclosure while updating journalists on the impact of military operations currently on across the country.
General Enenche said troops of the operations have maintained high professional and moral standards to deliver on their mandates.
The media coordinator also disclosed some of the terrorists wounded escaped with narrow chances of survival.
Taking the operations one after the other, the media coordinator said 146 bandits were neutralized in Katsina and Zamfara states while 17 kidnap victims were rescued and reunited with their families.
He said troops of the operation Hadarin Daji also arrested 16 Logistic informants and suppliers of the of the terrorists while no soldier lost his life during the operations which cleared terrorist hideouts.
In all, troops recovered arms and ammunitions from bandits in the northwest, 922 rustled cows and rescued 442 sheep but lost 4 soldiers in the operations within the period under review.
On operation wild stroke and delta safe, Enenche said seven bandits were killed in some local government areas of Taraba and Benue state while sixty-one illegal refineries, over five million barrel of crude oil being illegally refined were recovered by the government troops
Enenche also denied that some repented terrorists were being granted amnesty by the military.
He said it is the prerogative of the government to do so and not within the power of the military.
He said the military remains resolute to securing the country against all odds.
