Defence Says 92 Terrorists Eliminated Btw Feb 26 and March 6

The Defence Headquarters has declared that from 27 February to 6 March 2025, a total of 92 terrorists were eliminated while 111 suspected individuals were apprehended. It further stated that Troops also successfully captured 18 perpetrators involved in oil theft and rescued 75 hostages who had been kidnapped. Major General Markus Kangye, the Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed these achievements during the presentation of the bi-weekly reports on ongoing military operations by the Armed Forces of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday.
Kangye stated that, in the South South region, soldiers thwarted an attempted oil theft valued at approximately Five Hundred and Twenty One Million, Eight Hundred and Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Sixty Naira (N521, 802,360.00). He gave the detailed breakdown to include the recovery of 452,396 liters of stolen crude oil, 224,175 liters of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil, and 1,920 liters of PMS.
Kangye added that, troops discovered and dismantled 87 crude oil cooking ovens, 28 dugout pits, 23 boats, 33 storage tanks, 61 drums, and 47 illegal refining sites. The DDMO further revealed that the troops also confiscated 117 assorted weapons and 2,939 pieces of ammunition, which included 58 AK47rifles, 21 locally crafted guns, 26 dane guns, 7 pump action guns, 4 PKT guns, 2 GPMGs, one QJC W85 gun, one HK 21 gun, one M60 MG, 11 RPG bombs, 2 RPG tubes, and one fabricated 60mm mortar.
He further revealed that, the soldiers recovered a total of 2,278 rounds of assorted 7.62mm ammunition, 26 live cartridges, 64 rounds of 9mm ammo, 18 magazines, and 8 other assorted arms.
Among the items seized were 2 pumping machines, 3 tricycles, 5 motorcycles, 2 mobile phones, and 6 vehicles, among others.
