The people of Ozobulu were today thrown into mourning as some unidentified gunmen suspected to be drug lords, invaded a church in Ozubulu community in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state.

The unarmed and defenseless parishioners of St Philips Catholic Church were sent to their early grave.

The armed-to-the-teeth gunmen numbering five stormed the church during its Sunday morning service and opened fire, killing scores of parishioners; numbering 15, while scores were left with several degrees of injuries.

The police had since stormed the scene and promised to apprehend the perpetrators.
The lifeless bodies have been deposited at the mug while the injured ones are currently receiving treatment at the Nnewi teaching hospital.

The criminals were said to be looking for one of their counterparts named, Aloysius Ikeguowun who they kept on screaming his name aloud, while they shoot sporadically. ‎

Galaxy television gathered that the church where the attack took place was built for the community by him Aloysius Ikeguowun.

By the gun runners calculation he was suppose to be in the church service, but luckily for him he had travelled out of the state a day before which avail him narrow escape from the attack, but his father couldn't as he was gunned down with fourteen others.
