Reps Condemn Killing Of Police

The House of Representatives has frowned over the recent killings of policemen across the country. 


The House called on the Inspector General of police Ibrahim Idris, to immediately assemble a crack team of detectives to arrest the culprits.

 
This followed a motion of urgent national importance moved by Deputy whip, Pally Iriase. 
 
Moving the motion, Iriase noted that four policemen serving at the Sabongida- Ora, Owan west local government area of Edo state were gruesomely murdered by yet to be identified assailants on July 14, 2018.
 
He further noted that the deceased policemen were packed into an operational Hilux pick up van and set ablaze.
 
Also speaking, Minority Whip of the House, Yakubu Barde who said two policemen were also killed in similar circumstance along the Birnin-Gwari way yesterday, raised  alarm that the development is on the increase.
 
Contributing, Ahmed Kaita called for better equipment and training of the policemen, in order to forestall such attacks. 
 
The lawmakers expressed worry that if urgent steps are not taken to arrest the assailants and perpetrators of this act, there might be a breakdown of law and order in the area.
