Family laments neglect after killing of APC member

In less than two weeks after the shooting and killing of an APC member, Mathew Jacob at the party congress in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital, the family members of the deceased express dissatisfaction over the neglect by the party.

The family members denied the statement by the leader of the party and former governor of the state, Timipre Sylva that the party is in touch with the family.

Their dissatisfaction comes after the widow of the deceased and his children, father and brother to the deceased stormed the Nigeria Union of Journalists state secretariat in Yenagoa to appeal for support.

It would be recalled that the ugly incident happened on August 18th at the APC secretariat, leaving two party members dead as the wife of the deceased who was in a sober mood and younger brother lament the death of their bread winner.

On his part, the father-in-law to the late Mathew Jacob said the party has hurt a family and called for the intervention of the president.

It will be recalled that Timipre Sylva who led delegates on a dance celebration after the emergence of his candidate Mr. Joseph Fafi as the acting party chairman, had blamed political thugs who tried to disrupt the congress for the killing while the PDP leadership in the state had also condemned the killings.
