Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has lashed out on the American government for making a failed and deceitful promise to assist Nigeria with 30 walk through body temperature detector. The Minister made the disclosure yesterday at High level expert meeting on Ebola Virus Disease in Abuja organized by the Ministry of Health and Treatment Research Group on Ebola Virus Disease (TRG). Professor Chukwu said instead of the American government fulfilling her promise, the American Ambassador James F. Entwistle decided to donate hand held infrared thermometer as against it's earlier promise. He however urge Nigerians to pay attention to details and never to caramelise the system while advising TRG to create a roadmap to ensure Nigeria takes a lead in treatment of EVD. Earlier, the chairman senate committee on health,Ifeanyi Okowa noted that the research bill will be presented at the National Assembly for passage into law while stressing need for continuous research into borders and vaccines on Ebola virus Disease. In his presentation, chairman of the Group,Prof Innocent Ujah explained Nigeria has about three virgin vaccine candidates to be experimented for possible usage for the treatment of Ebola virus disease.
