Former state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state, Chief Tiwei Timipa has led the only member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state house of assembly and hundreds of his supporters to the ruling People’s Democratic Party.

The defectors were received by the governor Seriake Dickson and his Deputy in a ceremony at the Osborne playground in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital.

Welcoming the defectors, the Bayelsa state governor said the party is against politically motivated killings and other crimes.

Also speaking, the former APC chairman and APGA lawmaker said they decide to jump ship in other to embrace peace, as the special adviser to the governor on political matters promised a level playing ground.

The defectors who trooped out in their hundreds from the eight local government areas of the state, vowed to contribute their quota in winning elections in their various ward come 2019.
