Amosun Distributes C of O To Home Owner Beneficiaries

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has restated the commitment of his administration to housing development and urban renewal drive across the state.

 

Speaking in Abeokuta, during the distribution of five thousand certificate of occupancy and building plan approval to first set of beneficiaries of the home owners' program assured the indigenes of the state of his government commitment to qualitative housing delivery.

 


Home owner initiative was introduced by the Ogun state government in December 2013 to provide avenue for property owners in the state to get their title documents at subsidized rate.

Eleven month after, the state government has issued out another five thousand certificates to beneficiaries who enjoyed 75% reduction.

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has promised that his administration would remain committed to qualitative Housing delivery and urban renewal scheme across the state in it rebuilding mission.

 

Speaking in Abeokuta, during the distribution of Certificate of Occupancy and building plan approval to over five thousand beneficiaries of the Home Owner Charter Scheme, Amosun said the state Government would be issuing out a minimum of five hundred certificate of occupancy on weekly basis as from now on.

The Governor maintained that the program was borne out of the discovery that most areas in the state are not well plan and that government could not provide enough amenities for those ‎areas that are not well captured stressing that, the need to transform ogun state gave birth to home owner charter scheme.

Amosun added that the initiative was part of the agenda to create affordable housing scheme and urban renewal scheme for the ‎good people of the state.

He declared that the process of issuing the certificate of occupancy in the state has been made easy to the introduction of a new technology adding that, those in charge of the exercise have been mandated to be issuing at least 500 certificate of occupancy on weekly basis.

Governor Amosun commended the beneficiaries of the scheme for keeping faith and confidence in the administration adding that it was a fulfillment of the administration dream of creating a new Ogun state.

Earlier in his remark, the Director General Bureau of Lands and Survey, Wale Osinowo said the home owner initiative was borne out of the governor's genuine love for property owners who have lost hope of getting necessary title documents for their properties.

He noted that the bureau and other professional bodies involved, such as the Nigerian institute of town planners have been working tirelessly in order to meet up with the target set by the governor.

He however identified some of the challenges confronting them during the inspection process and urged the Community Development Associations to continue to be educating their members.

Some of the beneficiaries also used the opportunity of the event to thank the state government for keeping its words and urged others to believe in its vision.
