Reps Say President Will Not Present Budget on Wednesday
The National Assembly Management has refuted reports claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will present the 2025 budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
In a statement signed by Audu Bullah Biallah, Director of Information, on behalf of the Secretary of Research and Information, the management clarified that the National Assembly has yet to approve the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF&FSP), a prerequisite for the official presentation of the 2025 budget.
The statement also addressed false information attributed to Dr. Ali Barde Umoru, Secretary of Research and Information, allegedly confirming the presentation. It emphasized that such claims are baseless and urged the public to disregard them.
The Secretary cautioned against the spread of misinformation and advised that any official inquiries or clarifications regarding National Assembly matters should be made through proper communication channels.
