Commissioner of Police in Osun state, Olafimihan Adeoye says investigations are underway to ascertain the root cause of Saturday's explosion in a supermarket store in Ile-Ife which killed one person.

Adeoye who visited the scene of the incident on Monday, April 9, said the police have taken custody of the only casualty in the disaster, Sunday Adebayo, who was the younger brother to the owner of the supermarket.

The CP enjoined residents to be calm, vigilant and assist the police to carry out necessary investigations.

He also assured that necessary arrangements are being done to ensure excavation and evacuation of the rubbles with a call on the people especially the remaining residents of the adjoining buildings to vacate.
