NSE sensitize Nigerians on patronizing professionals
Expressing concern to the increasing rate of building collapse in the country, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has enjoined Nigerians to stop patronising artisans in order to reduce the ugly trend.
The General Secretary of the Society in Ibadan, Engr. Ayodeji Adekunle while speaking with Galaxy television, said the body is also worried with the incessant building collapse which according to him has become a dent on the image of the profession.
He maintained that Nigerians have a great role to play if the issue of building collapse must be controlled, adding that people should begin to entrust their structures into the care of approved professionals by the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
On curtailing the activities of quacks and unapproved practitioners, Engr. Adekunle said the body has a well structured procedures to detect and handle such people but solicits the support of the people in this regard.
It will be recalled that a building recently collapsed in Lagos state where an appreciating number of lives were lost and others seriously injured.
