Navy hands-over oil to EFCC
The Nigerian Navy Forward Operation Base at Egweama in Bayelsa state have handed another barge loaded with a substance suspected to be diesel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This comes after one week after operatives of the Nigerian Navy, the Delta state command handed over two oil vessels to the EFCC
This according to the security outfit is in line with the zero tolerance mandate of the Chief of the Naval Staff Vice, Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas.
Fielding questions from newsmen after the EFCC operatives removed samples of the products and sealed the barge, the Commanding Officer NNS Formoso, Navy Captain Adamu Yahaya spoke on the arrest.
Speaking further, he warns perpetrators of illegalities in the waterways to desist as the EFCC representative said the barge has been taken over for investigation.
The high point of the handing over was the presentation of the barge keys to the EFCC by the commander, while official papers were also signed to climax the documentation process in the handing over.
