Navy express determination to foil oil theft
The commander of the Nigerian Navy Force Operation Base in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, Captain Mayowa Olukoya, has said that the Nigerian Navy is determined to stop crude oil theft in the region.
The Naval commander made the disclosure at Odioama community during the free medical services to community residents.
The Navy medical team who arrived the coastal community on Navy gunboats, gathered community residents who were treated for different ailments before the commander spoke on their effort to stop oil theft.
Speaking on the free medical services to community residents, the state government representative and the community youth leader commended the Navy for the gesture.
The exercise is in line with the military social responsibilities to the civil public, as directed by the Chief-of-Naval staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas.
