Makinde, Oyetola laud NUC decision on LAUTECH
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has lashed out at critics condemning the amicable matter with which the ownership crisis rocking the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho was resolved to look for something meaningful to engage in.
Makinde who said what himself and his Osun state counterpart, Governor Gboyega Oyetola have done is to solve a problem which had lingered over several years, several regimes and even different players, not minding party differences.
He spoke at the Osun State Government Secretariat, Abeere, Osogbo, the Osun state capital city when he paid a Thank You Visit to Governor Oyetola on Monday.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Makinde commended Governor Oyetola for choosing to be statesmanly above partisan politics noting that what was important to both parties in the cession of the ownership to Oyo state was getting the students back to school while also ensuring that the university fulfils its original mandate which is to train graduates that will be impactful on the environment.
In his remarks, Governor Oyetola said that the decision for the cession of ownership requires statesmanly on his part as well as a display of rare courage which requires rising above political and primordial sentiments, noting that the state made a painful sacrifice.
He noted that Osun state made a painful sacrifice to allow both states to move on adding that Makinde should act in good faith and abide with the provisions of the MoU signed.
