Gov. Adeleke Briefs Traditional Rulers, Says No Court Order Reinstates Sacked Chairmen

Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke says he is convinced there was no consequential order for reinstatement of the 2022-sacked council chairmen in the Akure appeal court judgement.
Governor Adeleke stated this at a special briefing session with Osun State Council of Obas on the political crises that recently engulfed the state over local government councils' leadership, where he clarified that he was not responsible for the sack of the embattled chairmen.
The governor reaffirmed there was no court order or any justification reinstating the sacked chairmen to office, thereby saying the People’s Democratic Party has no reason to proceed to the Supreme Court
In his statement, the governor questioned why the APC and its allies have refused to pursue the appeal filed against the APP judgement that sacked its chairmen
While reiterating his commitment to the rule of law, the governor noted that the latest Supreme Court judgement in Rivers state has affirmed that there is no legal basis for the sacked chairmen to continue to occupy the secretariats
Chairman of the council, the Ooni of lfe, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi admonished parties involved to ensure peaceful resolution of the local government leadership tussle in line with the rule of law.
