FRSC Tells Road Users to Speak Up To Ensure Safety
The Ogun state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps is calling on road users to take personal responsibility for their safety by speaking up in the eventuality of any reckless during any road trip.
The Sector Commander, OGUN FRSC, Corps Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin made this known at a town hall meeting which had in attendance key stakeholders in the transport sector in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
With the theme; Speak up against dangerous driving, crashes kill more passengers than drivers, the corps commander encouraged road users of safe use of the road at all times.
On his part, the Ogun State Secretary, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria noted that over 60% of crashes are caused by humans; stressing those transporters has developed means on how to eradicate road crashes.
On his part, the commissioner for transportation in Ogun State, Engr. Gbenga Dairo said government is constantly engaging stakeholders towards ensuring that road crashes are brought to its barest minimum.
He however urged drivers and road users to be cautious at all times as well as pay attention to safety measures on the road. The corps has however revealed plans to collaborate with other relevant stakeholders in terms of public enlightenment and education.
