Embattled SUG President will be Charged to Court - Police
Police in Ogun State stalled the proposed protest by the National Association of Nigerian Students slated for Monday over the arrest of Adegboye Olatunji.
The protest was to drum support for the embattled Students Union President of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro on his claim that, he was not involved in cultism.
Speaking to Galaxy News on the development, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said all the demands of the students' bodies are not tenable.
He said the protest can not be allowed in public interest.
Although Police is yet to make a new arrest, the command said it will arraign the embattled SUG President, and other suspects in custody in court soon.
Speaking on the outcome of the meeting with the police management, the Special Assistant to Ogun State governor on students matters, Adeyemi Azeez said the meeting was progressive; adding that the protest has been suspended.
It remains to be seen the innocence of the embattled SUG President in the alleged involvement in cult-related activities; it is hoped the court will give clarity to the struggle with time.
