Delta IDP's Call For Release Of Arrested Parents.
Internally Displaced Persons from the Delta community of Okuama where seventeen military personnel were killed, have cried out demanding the release of their parents who were arrested by security operatives after declaring them wanted.
The IDP,s are calling for their release over what they described as the health challenges and the inability of those they left behind to cater for themselves.
The mood at the internally Displaced Persons camp in the agrarian Delta community of Okuama was a sober one as the displaced persons wander from one end to the other awaiting the news of the return of their breadwinner.
Speaking on the issue, the chairman of the Delta IDP camp management committee Mr. Abraham Ogbodo, called on the security agencies to take the arrested persons to court rather than keeping them in custody.
Also speaking, the children and brother of the arrested persons expressed displeasure over the continuous detention of their bread winner, while also lamenting over their state of health.
Although the defence headquarters had declared some of the arrested persons wanted before their arrest, what their siblings are demanding is for them to be taken to court and not their continuous detention without trial, since it is their families and their health that is suffering the most.
