Police parade 100 suspects
The Anambra state police command has paraded over 100 criminals for various offences ranging from kidnapping, child trafficking, among others.
The command assured the public of the state’s resolved to sanitize the state of all criminal activities.
Parading the criminals at the police command headquarters in Awka, the Anambra state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar revealed that the suspects were arrested for varying offences, like “child trafficking, Armed Robbery, Cultism and other social vices.”
Briefing journalist shortly after security meeting involving all security chiefs in the state the police commissioner said the command in synergy with other security agencies would stop at nothing to stem the rising tide of youths involvement in cult activities.
Garba also warned against illegal use of Sirens and frowned at the art of covering vehicles plate numbers and unauthorized destruction of Political billboards and posters by rivalry political thugs.
Ammunition recovered were scores of Pump actions and Double Barrels guns, tens of live cartridges, Knifes, Machetes, and dozens of live ammunition.
The CP called on members of the public to maintain close relationship with the police by giving useful information.
