Lassa: Ekiti confirms one death case
The chief medical director of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ogundipe Kolawole has confirmed the death of one Lassa fever patients in the hospital as against rumours making the round that four Lassa fever patients died in the hospital.
Ogundipe made the confirmation while answering questions from journalists in Ado Ekiti as part of the events to celebrate the tenth year anniversary of the Teaching Hospital.
He said the management of the hospital embarked on the improvement of critical infrastructure upon the assumption of office which he said has improved health care delivery in the hospital.
Ogundipe appealed to corporate organisations and influential members of the society to partner with the hospital as Government alone could no longer shoulder the responsibilities.
He said upon observing the agony patients undergo in their bid to pay for healthcare delivery within the hospital as they shuttle between the hospital and banks, ATM machines have however been installed in the premises.
The management of the Ekiti State University Teaching hospital has reassured residents of the state and beyond of its commitment to reposition for effective service delivery and the highest level of healthcare delivery.
