Makinde stops Ibadan circular road project
Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has directed the contractor handling the Ibadan circular road project initiated by the administration of Abiola Ajimobi to stop work at the site with immediate effect.
Makinde, who gave the order during an unscheduled visit to the site, says his administration would not tolerate any form of delay.
The circular road project located at Alakia along the Lagos-Ibadan bye-pass was flagged off by the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi with a total sum of #65 billion.
Speaking during an unscheduled visit to the site, Governor Seyi Makinde expressed displeasure over the level of work done despite the huge amount approved for the project by the last administration.
He declared that his administration would not tolerate any form of contract delay adding that road construction given to contractors must be executed within the stipulated time.
Recall that the project review committee led by Engr. Gbenga Fatila a few weeks ago submitted its recommendations on some of the projects initiated by the last administration which are ongoing while governor Makinde has vowed to take drastic steps on those recommendations.
