The Nigerian Senate will be inaugurating its 69 standing committees Wednesday 25^th September 2019 following resumption from its almost two months of annual recess.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan made this known during plenary Tuesday at the end of a closed-door meeting at the Red Chamber preceding the commencement of the day’s legislative business.

The Senate President also disclosed that the presentation of the 2020 Budget proposal and the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) is being awaited by the upper chamber.

In his welcome speech, the Senate President urged the Parliament to take a unified stance in addressing the challenges confronting the country and avoid the tendencies of being distracted due to partisan sentiments.
