I don't have plan to Islamise Nigeria- Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has denied allegations of plans by his administration to Islamize Nigeria.
The president was speaking against the backdrop of insinuations that he, through his actions is biased while handling religious matters.
Speaking while recieving in audience, the National Leadership of Arewa Pastors Non-denominational Initiative for Peace in Nigeria at the Presidential villa, Abuja, Thursday, he described allegations of religious bias against him, as the figment of the opposition’s imagination saying he never contemplated such plans even during his military administration.
The president said instead of appointing muslims, more Christian Nigerians have been appointed by his administrations based on merits and individual qualities.
The President, however, commended the delegation for their comments on the country and stated that he does not discriminate on the basis of religion or any other guise.
Earlier, the delegation expressed concern over the increasing rate of insecurity in the country but commended the president for steps so far taken to end insecurity in the country and plans to achieve full economic recovery, through the Economic Recovery and Growth Plans.
The members also condemned religious leaders who make utterances capable of inciting violence.
The group comprises pastors from the nineteen states of Northern Nigeria.
