Sowore Calls for the Probe of Killings in Plateau and Borno

The 2023 Presidential Candidate of African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has decried the incessant killings going on in Plateau and Borno State, accusing the Security Agencies of negligence. Not only that, Sowore has also maintained that the Nigeria Police Force has been incapacitated under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun.

The Human Right Activist, who led his support on a peaceful protest to the Luis Edet House, that housed the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, decried the wanton killings going on in Plateau and Borno State with little or no efforts to curtail the menace by officers of the Nigeria Police Force and other Security Agencies.

Sowore queried the level of intelligence in the Nigeria Police Force adding that, it is appalling that the Borno State Government declared that it has lost some communities to the Boko Haram. Not only that, the Human Right Activist and his Loyalists also demanded the immediate removal of the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, saying his tenure has long expired and condemned the decision of President Bola Tinubu to continue to keep him office while other officers in his category have been retired.

He declared his determination to continue to champion the course of Egbetokun retirement and for a new blood to be injected into the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force for safety of lives and property of Nigerians. Galaxy Television reports that Officers of the Nigeria Police Force, were strategically positions within and across the Force Headquarters to prevent breakdown of law and order during the peaceful protest by Sowore and his supporters.
