Police arrests tenant who allegedly murdered landlord in Ekiti
The Ekiti State police command has vowed to ensure arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in cases of rape in the state.
The Commissioner of police in Ekiti state, Amba Asuquo disclosed this while parading four suspects involved in rape cases, including a 39-year-old man, Tunmise Abraham, who allegedly killed her landlady, Bukola Olanrewaju after raping her to death in Ado Ekiti.
The 39-year-old Tailor and mother of three were allegedly killed last week Thursday by Tunmise, who hailed from Ikole Ekiti.
The command said it also arrested two serial rapists, Babalola Olaniyo and Olupinla Dotun, who raped a girl at Olorunda area of Ado Ekiti metropolis last week.
According to him, the suspect after committing the offence ran to Akure and took refuge in a Church where he was arrested.
The Police boss said that the suspect confessed to his family that He had killed somebody in Ado Ekiti.
Asuquo, however, assured members of the public of the readiness of the police to effect the prompt arrest of criminals in the state.
Tunmise Abraham who spoke in Yoruba said the deceased had allegedly provoked her over a disagreement on house rent with the husband of the woman.
He denied the accusation that he raped the landlady to death, explaining that he only hit her on the head with a big stick before making efforts to tie her hands to make her weak during a fisticuff.
