Police Arrest 2,294 Suspects between February and March

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a total number of 2,294 Suspects for various criminal offences between February 2025 till date. This according to the Force remain a significant strides in combating crime nationwide.

 

Galaxy Television reports that the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi while reeling out the achievements of the Force at News conference in Abuja stated that 333 firearms, 6,422 rounds of ammunition, and 200 stolen vehicles were recovered, while 324 kidnapped victims were rescued.

 

Adejobi said On March 11, 2025, IRT operatives encountered an ambush at Oshara Ganden, a boundary between Kogi and Edo states, using tactical superiority, they overpowered the armed kidnappers and arrested eight suspects Tukur Salisu, Sani Abubakar, Mamud Sani, Umar Abdullahi, Salisu Mohammed, Salisu Usman, Bashir Audu, and Jibril Haruna. The operative, according to him, recovered One AK-47 rifle with 29 rounds, an Israeli pump-action rifle with 4 cartridges, two pump-action rifles (72 cartridges), a single-barrel rifle with 2 cartridges and two operational motorcycles.

 

Also, On January 27, 2025, acting on intelligence, IRT operatives arrested Yakubu Musa (30) and Usman Musa (25) for involvement in kidnapping and cattle rustling in Soba and Ikara LGAs, Kaduna State. Officers recovered three AK-47 rifles and 19 rounds of live ammunition and both suspects confessed to multiple kidnapping operations.

 

ACP Adejobi reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging citizens to support law enforcement by providing timely and accurate information. He warned criminals that the Force remains relentless in its pursuit of justice and will continue to dismantle criminal networks. Exhibits displayed at the briefing included 89 rounds of ammunition, six AK-47 rifles, one AK-49 rifle, an Israeli pump-action rifle, two pump-action rifles, and a single-barrel rifle.
