NSCDC Rescues Ibadan Chief from Mob Action
Operatives of the Anti Human Trafficking Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Oyo State Command have rescued a 60-year-old man, Nojeem Anifowose, from mob attack in Ibadan.
Anifowose, who is a Mogaji in Ibadan, was rescued from the angry mob after he was alleged of molesting two female minors ages 13 and 17, at Fanawole area of Apete, Ibadan.
The Commandant of NSCDC in Oyo State, Iskilu Akinsanya, disclosed that the Anti Human Trafficking Unit of the Command was alerted to the incident around 9 am
According to him, Residents of the area called on the Civil Defence Divisional office at Sango to interfere before the suspect will be armed. He added that the victims alleged that the old man defiled them on the account of engaging in spiritual healing.
Our correspondent learnt that It took the intervention of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the area to rescue the man just as the residents of the area were about to set him ablaze.
The Commandant of the NSCDC in the state urged resident to desist from jungle justice but report criminal activities to NSCDC and other security agencies.
He also lauded the people of the area for giving timely information to the Corps, saying the man would be charged to court after necessary investigation is completed.
