Insecurity: Olubadan Tasks CCII, Other Groups in Ibadan for Rapid Development
Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji has tasked leaders and members of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes and other formidable groups in Ibadan to rise up to the challenges of insecurity and other developmental challenges in the land.
Oba Adetunji who made the appeal when some members of the council led by Elder Kola Olawale visited the Popoyemoja Palace of the monarch stressed that all hands must be on deck towards rapid development of Ibadan.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Olubadan who addressed his visitors in the native language called for unity of purpose among indigenes of Ibadan adding that they must be prepared to tackle the spate of violence and other criminal acts in the land.
Some leaders who spoke with Journalists after the visit stressed the need for combined efforts in tackling the spate of insecurity in Ibadan adding that the development of the land must be the focus of all indigenes.
They stressed the need for youth in Ibadan and its environs to understand the fact that they are the leaders and tomorrow and should refrain from acts that could jeopardize the fortune of the land.
Not only this, members of the Central Council of Ibadan indigenes also urged all well-meaning residents to focus on empowering the youth in order to curtail the spate of violence and other crimes in the land.
