FG Harps On Competitive Digital Economy in Nigeria
A five day National Council on Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy’s is currently holding in Makurdi the BENUE state capital
The event which is the 12th Council`s regular meeting hosted by the federal ministry of communication, innovation and Digital economy is themed: "accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence through policy and innovation for sustainable development in Nigeria”
The Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani. who was represented by the permanent secretary, Engr Faruk Yabo. says the federal government is interested in achieving a globally competitive economy through various initiatives in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Stating that the Ministry has ensured the provision of adequate infrastructure through the Right-of-Way (RoW) Policy where telecommunication operators pay to state governments to lay fiber optic cables that carry internet traffic on state roads.
Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia who was also represented by his deputy, informed that the State Government was working towards digitalizing the Benue economy, stating that any nation that is not involved in digital economy would be left behind.
