Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has faulted the composition of the constitutional and electoral review committee set up by the federal government.

He made his position known at the Southwest public hearing organised by the electoral and constitution review committee. 

Fayose who was represented by Dr Babajide Omotosho noted that there was no moral justification for Senator Ken Nnamani who is a leader of the APC in the southwest to head the committee.

 Dr Tunji Abayomi who represented the Ondo state governor faulted the Nigerian constitution as it is saying it was foisted on the people by the military.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Ken Nnamani on his part noted that as Nigeria get sets to go to the ballots again in 2019, it was imperative for Nigerians to eschew electoral violence and malpractices and embrace.

 He said being a member of a political party does not stop them from doing their job as it doesn’t take intelligence to criticise.

 Governor Ibikunle Amosun while declaring that the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable said Nigeria should learn from past experiences and ensure that global best practices are applied in the electoral process to make electioneering free and fair.

The highlight of the public hearing was the presentation of papers and positions by different interest groups, civil societies and traditional groups.
