Drama at the Senate as Akpabio announces Nwoko detection to APC

The defection of Senator Ned Nwoko from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has further swelled the camp of the Ruling All Progressive Congress at the Senate.

This has further weakened the opposition's presence in the 10th Senate, a development, that underscores the shrinking influence of the PDP as a formidable opposition force.

Following this latest political realignment, the composition of the Senate is as follows:
- APC:: 64 Senators
- PDP: 33 Senators
- Labour Party (LP): 5 Senators
- New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP): 2 Senators
- Social Democratic Party (SDP): 2 Senators
- All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA): 1 Senator

The Senate currently has 107 members, with two vacant seats:

1. Anambra South: Vacant following the demise of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

2. Edo Central: Vacant following the emergence of Senator Monday Okpebholo as Governor of Edo State.

GALAXY TV reports that the Senate President, Godswilll Akpabio has moved to constitute a Committee to look into the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party.

This move was countered by Senator Abba Moro, a development that almost led to exchange of word among Senators.
As a result of the argument, the Senate President, Godswilll Akpabio, decided to hold back the plan to constitute the Committee.
