Delta extends road construction to creeks
As part of measures to douse the agitations in the coastal areas of the state, the Delta state government has commenced the construction of the controversial Ogidigben community road in Warri South-West local government area of Delta state.
The community which is the proposed site for the Federal government multi-billion gas project will definitely provide jobs for restive unemployed youths.
Answering questions from newsmen after inspecting the excavation works, the Delta state commissioner for works, James Augoye said the government wants to send a message to the world.
While speaking further, he advised contractors handling the project to ensure it is completed before the raining season.
When completed, the road will help local farmers and fishermen in transporting their goods to neighboring communities, while also establishing government’s presence in the community.
