Chairman Joint Tax Board Urges States To Boost Revenue
As part of measures to find a lasting solution to the problem of multiple taxation in Nigeria, the chairman Joint Tax Board of Nigeria Kabir Mashi has called on states to start looking inwards towards boosting their source of revenue.
He made the disclosure during the 130TH meeting of the Joint Task Board with chairmen of the 36 states board of internal revenue held in Warri Delta state.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the Joint Task Board call on states to stop depending on federal government allocations, and to support one another in achieving their mandate.
Also speaking, the Delta state chairman board of internal revenue Mr. Joel Onowakpo, stated that Delta state is on the verge of diversifying to an economy that is not dependent on oil.
Present at the occasion were chairmen of the 36 states board of internal revenue, as well as invited guests from the private sectors.
