A relation that could be described as an evil cousin, Mr. Olajide Ajayi, who introduced himself as a part three student of Computer Physics at a college of education in Oyo town, has slit the throat of his niece, Miss Opeyemi Ajala, over N47,000 school fees.

The incident was revealed yesterday by the Oyo state commissioner of police Mr Muhammed Katsina while parading suspected kidnappers at the police headquarters, Eleyele Area of Ibadan.

Galaxy news gathered, Opeyemi had given her ATM card to Olajide a few weeks ago to withdraw a sum of N47, 000 from her account for the payment of her school fees. He withdrew the money but he allegedly squandered it on clothes and ladies she had lusted after when he did not have enough money to win their love.

However, drama broke out between the duo when Opeyemi requested for the copy of the teller with which she helped her paid the school fees. At the point, Olajide began to play hide-and-seek game with her.

According to him, he collected the money, but spent it. When the pressures from her were too much, and there was no way he could get the money to pay her back, I decided to kill her. One night, he went to her house with a sharp knife to kill her.

He state further that both live in Oyo town. I am a student in a college of education and she is a student of the college too, but her own course of study is affiliated to a university in Ekiti State. She is my cousin. So, I got to her house at about 8p.m.

“I knocked and she opened the door for me. As I entered, I locked the door and pinned her head down on the bed. I did not allow her to shout. Then, I brought out the knife and slit her throat. When blood started gushing out and she was unconscious, I thought she was dead and I escaped"  he said.

He made the confession yesterday when he was paraded by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr. Mohammed Katsina, in Ibadan. The police boss stated that the lady survived the attack miraculously, adding that she has been taken to the University College of Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for medical attention.

The lady was said to have managed to pick her cell phone few minutes after the suspected assailant left and placed a call to one of her neighbors, who informed the police. The suspect, according to the police boss, would be charged to court soon.
