The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, has emphasized the importance of creativity and innovation in driving Nigeria’s economic development. Speaking at the 2025 National Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation, Ahmad noted that the world is evolving rapidly, and it is imperative for Nigeria to foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technical excellence among its youth.
Galaxy Television reports that the Minister, represented by the Director of Colleges of Education in the Ministry, Dr. Uche Uba, said the Federal Ministry of Education recognized the crucial role that creativity and innovation play in the nation’s economic development.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwazor, who was equally represented by Dr. Yusuf Saheed, Director of Reform Coordination in the Ministry, said the exhibition serves as a collective commitment to fostering ingenuity, technological advancement and creativity in polytechnics and other allied institutions.
Other Speakers at the event including the Consultant for the Exhibition emphasized the need for such activities and the need to encourage institutions in this regard. The exhibition featured 82 pioneering projects spanning fabrication, manufacturing, and production using locally sourced materials, highlighting the potential for self-sufficiency and job creation. Stakeholders, including industry leaders and investors, were urged to explore collaborations to bring these innovations to market.
